Matariki Night Market

The goal of this project was to create a poster advertising Night Market that was celebrating Matariki. The content was to appeal to a wide range of people and get as many people to come as possible
For the Target Audience I was looking to appeal to Maori and Pakeha families primarily in order help bring both groups together due to the history between both groups, my poster shouold primarily focus on enticing the parents as they are the ones who make the decisions, my design should give a comforting safe feeling along with the feeling of excitement and intrigue, for the children. The Location being in Cuba St means that its easy to get to for most families, public transport is close by and accessible, and there is lots of room for people to move so they shouldn’t have to worry about their kids getting lost amidst the people.
When researching some common New Zealand Marketing tropes is that ads will either be really simple (straight up) with one or two type faces and a handful of colors, or really chaotic with several different things happening at the same time a lots of things going on all at once. There is also a large focus on nature and organic living.
